|  | Bullroarers : Aboriginal Artifacts | Aside from boomerangs, bullroarers are included in our range of Aboriginal artifacts. WHAT IS A BULLROARER?
The Bullroarer is a sacred musical instrument used by the aborigines at initiation and other ceremonies. It is a thin oblong section of wood, attached to a length of string through a hole at one end. When it is swung rapidly through the air it produces a peculiar humming sound. It is held in sacred veneration as it is said to make the sound of the spirits of 2 dead boys who are slaughtered in a Dreamtime story (myth). It is only seen by the women of the tribe under penalty of death. [Thanks to SacredTexts.com and Original Aboriginal BushCrafts] These timber artifacts are available in small, medium and large. Lengths are approximately 17cm (7.5"), 21cm (9") & 24cm (10.5"), respectively. Each one is fully strung and includes an instruction card for whirling. |  | Emu Callers : Aboriginal Artifacts | Emu Callers are included in our range of Aboriginal artifacts. During traditional emu hunts, the Australian Aborigines blow into these to mimic the sound of the emu. The call lures the flightless bird into the open, to be distracted by returning boomerangs while becoming the target for a low-flying, sharp-edged killer boomerang. They are essentially a short cutting of about 30cm from a branch of native Australian timber. The length of branch is hollowed out and hand-painted in an Aboriginal modern or dot-art design featuring Australian native animals from the Dreamtime creation myths.

|  | Food Products | We are not usually food stockists. At the moment, one of the four items we carry in this category is the exportable and resealable pouch of temptingly fresh and delicious macadamia nuts, native to Australia. These are seducively coated in chocolate.
Two of the other three items are packets of candy (which we refer to as lollies). There are gum drops and outback fruits. These make excellent stocking fillers for Christmas and they are popular with adults and children. The fourth products is an Australian icon. It is Vegemite. We stock it in what you could call travel packs. They are 145gm tubes, like large tubes of toothpaste, except some say toothpaste tastes much better. You either love vegemite or you hate vegemite. However, this dark brown sandwich spread or toast spread, which is made of yeast extract, is definitely worth a try. Just for the experience!
